Four Injured In Crash That Causes Hourslong Road Closure In Yorktown

Four people were injured in a serious two-vehicle crash with extrication in Northern Westchester.

Yorktown Heights Fire responded to the scene of the crash on Route 118 around 6:08 a.m., Friday, May 10, with Yorktown Volunteer Ambulance Corps, Empress Emergency Medical Services 34-Medic 1, and the Yorktown Police Department to Saw Mill River Road for a motor vehicle accident, the department said.

One had to be extricated by Yorktown firefighters following the crash.

Once on scene, they found four patients in need and began the extrication, as well as tending to the patients in need including possible fractures, and other serious, but non-life threatening injuries, officials said.

The four injured were transported to area hospitals for treatment. 

The crash shut down the road between Hanover Street and Route 129 for more than four hours for police to perform an accident investigation.

Four people were injured during the crash.
